On-Call Snow Equipment Operator

Pay: $25–$30 per hour, based on experienceJob Type: Seasonal / On-Call Location: Wasilla & Palmer, Alaska

About Us

Eagle Eye Secure Storage handles snow removal in-house to keep our storage facilities safe, accessible, and well-maintained throughout the winter.

We operate newer, well-maintained equipment with heated cabs and bright lighting, and we’re looking for an experienced on-call snow equipment operator to join our team for the upcoming winter season.

Position Overview

This is an on-call position based on snowfall. When snow events occur, you’ll work as part of a small team clearing our storage facilities and keeping lots, drive lanes, entrances, and buildings accessible.

This is a hands-on snow removal position. In addition to operating equipment, operators are expected to shovel snow as part of snow-event prep and cleanup, including shoveling snow away from buildings so it can be efficiently removed by loaders.

Because snow doesn’t follow a schedule, availability may include early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays depending on weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate front-end loaders equipped with Snow Plow Tools Arctic Sectional snow pushers
  • Clear parking lots, drive lanes, entrances, and other areas
  • Shovel snow away from buildings, doors, and other areas that cannot be effectively reached by equipment
  • Perform snow shoveling and other prep work before and during snow removal operations
  • Operate a sander truck as directed
  • Perform basic pre- and post-operation equipment checks
  • Fuel equipment as needed
  • Work safely around buildings, vehicles, gates, and other obstacles
  • Communicate with management regarding property conditions and snow removal needs

Requirements

  • Prior experience safely operating heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers, excavators, backhoes, or similar equipment
  • Snow removal experience is a plus, but not required
  • All operators will receive training on our equipment, properties, and snow removal procedures before working independently
  • Able and willing to perform physical snow shoveling and prep work as part of each snow event
  • Comfortable working outdoors in winter conditions
  • Reliable transportation and ability to respond when called during snow events
  • Availability may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays depending on snowfall
  • Safety-minded, dependable, and respectful of company equipment and property
  • Clear communication with the snow removal team

We’re looking for someone who is already comfortable operating heavy equipment. We’ll train you on how we want snow removed at our properties and make sure you’re comfortable with our equipment before you’re expected to operate independently.

Compensation & Equipment

$25–$30 per hour, based on experience

Operators are paid hourly for active snow-removal work. Hours vary based on snowfall and are not guaranteed.

We provide modern, well-maintained equipment with heated cabs and bright lighting to make long or overnight snow events more comfortable.

If you have snow removal, loader, heavy equipment, or commercial plowing experience and don’t mind getting out of the cab to help with the hands-on work, we’d like to hear from you.

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Application Question(s):

  • This position includes snow shoveling and prep work outside the equipment, including shoveling snow away from buildings before loader work begins. Are you willing and able to perform this work during snow events?
  • Snow events may require being called in with limited notice and working early mornings, nights, weekends, or holidays. Are you able to reliably work this type of on-call schedule?
  • Please briefly describe your heavy equipment operating experience, including the types of equipment you’ve operated and approximately how long you’ve operated them. Snow removal experience is a plus, but not required.
