Winter Retail Supervisor

Berkshire East Mountain Resort is looking for a motivated, organized person to take ownership of our Winter retail shop and make it their own throughout the season. This is a hands-on role focused on creating a welcoming, well-organized shop and ensuring a great experience for both guests and staff.

The Winter Retail Supervisor will work closely with the Customer Service managers and Retail buyer, who will handle backend ordering, receiving, pricing, and related administrative tasks. Your focus will be the day-to-day operations and presentation of the shop.

The most important quality we're looking for is pride of ownership-someone who notices what needs attention, takes initiative, and genuinely enjoys making the shop better.

Responsibilities

  • Take pride in the overall appearance, organization, and day-to-day operation of the Retail Shop.
  • Work primarily the opening through afternoon shifts in the Retail Shop, approximately 30-40 hours per week.
  • Maintain clean, organized sales floor and backstock areas.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly priced, tagged, stocked, and displayed.
  • Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and help drive retail sales.
  • Monitor inventory and identify gaps in product offerings or opportunities for additional sales.
  • Bring ideas and observations to the inventory manager/buyer and work collaboratively to improve the shop.
  • Manage and organize the lostfound during slower periods of the day.
  • Direct guests to Customer Service at the Welcome Center.
  • Answer basic guest questions and be a welcoming presence.
  • Help train and support other staff as needed.
  • Assist with other tasks that contribute to the overall success of the winter operation, as requested by mountain management.

Minimum Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

  • Skilled in providing outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to learn point of sale (POS) systems and complete retail sales.
  • Friendly disposition and connect with guests and coworkers.
  • Willingness to follow company procedures for promoting a safe workplace.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demands:

  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand, bend, and lift as needed.
  • Be mentally attentive and able to focus.
