Wire Assembly Technician

Position SummaryThe wire cutter operates manual or automated wire-coiling and cutting machines to process raw master reels into precise customer lengths. This role ensures high accuracy to minimize scrap, maintain inventory logs, and stages finished cuts for shipping or assembly.

Essential Responsibilities·

Order Processing: Read and interpret pick tickets, cut sheets, and job orders to determine correct wire type, gauge, color, and length.

Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and perform basic troubleshooting on wire-cutting and striping machines. Place heavy wire spools onto payout spindles and feed wire through rolls safely.

Quality Control: Inspect finished cuts for defects, measure dimensions accurately, and ensure compliance with specifications before labeling.

Inventory Management: Label completed bundles with correct part numbers and lengths. Track partial reels, record scrap, and update wire-cutting logs.

Warehouse Support: Operate material-handling equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts, load/unload reels, and maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace.

Qualifications & Requirements · Experience: 1–2 years of warehouse or electrical distribution experience is highly preferred.

Equipment Skills: Certified or certifiable to operate forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks to move master reels weighing up to several thousand pounds.

Technical Skills: Strong basic math skills (converting feet to inches, calculating total yield) and comfort using warehouse RF scanners or inventory software.·

Physical Stamina: Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs regularly and work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.

Starting Salary: $20 + Depending on Experience
