What they need

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Wire Harness Assembler to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for building high-quality electrical wire harnesses and cable assemblies according to engineering instructions. The ideal candidate possesses strong manual skills and proven expertise in precision terminal crimping, wire routing, harness looming and a focus on safety and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Crimping & Termination: Operate hand crimpers, semi-automatic crimp presses, and mechanical termination equipment to securely attach contacts and terminals to various wire gauges.
  • Preparation & Cutting: Measure, cut, strip, twist, splice and label wires using automatic wire processing machinery and hand tools.
  • Wire Routing & Board Layout: Route, layout, and position wires accurately on build boards (form boards) following wire lists and insertion process.
  • Looming & Bundling: Apply protective looming, conduit sleeves, braided sleeving, heat-shrink tubing, and cable ties to bundle and protect wire systems from moisture, abrasion, and thermal damage. Install hardware and components including relays and fuse blocks.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing: Perform visual and dimensional inspections of completed assemblies. Conduct continuity test and pull testing using test fixtures or multimeters to ensure functionality.
  • Documentation: Read and work instructions, and bill of materials (BOM). Document lot numbers and tool calibrations as required.
  • Maintain tools and equipment (e.g., crimpers, wire strippers, heat guns, and automated cutting machines) in clean working conditions.
  • Adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean, organized workstation using 6S guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • Basic math and measuring skills, including the ability to accurately read tape measures and calipers.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in wire harness assembly or electronics manufacturing.
  • Technical Mastery: Demonstrated proficiency with hand tools, crimping dies, wire strippers, heat guns, and looming materials.
  • Precision & Focus: Excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail to follow specific instructions, and sharp attention to detail.
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to distinguish colors accurately to prevent cross-wiring errors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience, ideally in electronics assembly, electrical wiring, or a similar production environment.
  • Crimp center operation experience.
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies).
  • Basic soldering skills for electrical connections.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit at assembly benches for extended periods.
  • Good manual dexterity for handling small components, pins, and delicate wires.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally.
