Wish Granting Intern

Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. From our humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, we have evolved to be one of the world’s leading children’s charities, serving children in every community in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and more than 24,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants more than 25 wishes each day throughout the U.S. and its territories.

Position Summary

• Assist our Mission Delivery team to grant wishes for children with critical illnesses.
• This is an administrative internship and interns will likely have no interaction with wish kids.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Process new wish referrals and create digital wish file
• Enter new referrals in Sales Force
• Call physicians' offices for followup on medical eligibility forms
• Contact wish granting volunteers via phone or email
• Recruit volunteers for wish granter trainings
• Send eligibility documents to wish families
• Follow up on pending wish referrals
• Conduct virtual wish visits with families
• Research specific aspects of a wish, example: special needs computers, sensory room redo, etc.
• Send thank you letters for inkind donations

Desired Qualifications

• Must have strong communication, organization, and writing skills.
• Possess high energy level, a professional appearance, and a "gogetter" attitude
• Excellent writing skills.
• Comfortable speaking on the phone and have a personable and friendly demeanor.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fastpaced, collaborative environment are critical.
• Must be a selfstarter with drive and motivation.

Location of Opportunity

• This is an internal internship position.
• Maitland Office (850 Concourse Parkway S. Ste. 150 Maitland, FL)

Intern Commitment

• Part Time internship (2 days in the office)
• Unpaid position
• $400 Gift Card offered.
