Crystal J Chapman LLC

Location: Wasilla, Alaska (In-Office) - This is NOT a remote position.
Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (20–40 hours/week)
About CJC Dynamic Solutions
CJC Dynamic Solutions is a veteran-owned, women-owned agency based in Wasilla, Alaska. We deliver web design, backend systems, content, and digital marketing strategies for small businesses. We operate in a fast-paced environment built on integrity, client independence, accountability, and real team collaboration.
Role Summary
We are hiring a Web Builder with expertise in Wix and solid familiarity with WordPress to design, update, and maintain high-quality client websites. This is not a freelancing gig or a solo venture stepping stone. We are looking for a dedicated team member who prefers working within an established agency alongside a small, fast-moving team.
You will report to the CEO (Crystal Chapman) and collaborate directly with our Creative Director (Chaney Fray) to translate design concepts into functional site builds under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Website Development &amp; Maintenance: Build, update, and optimize websites primarily using Wix, as well as WordPress.</li>
<li>Collaboration &amp; Execution: Work closely with the Creative Director to turn mockups into pixel-perfect, mobile-optimized sites while adhering to agency standards and design guidelines.</li>
<li>Proactive Problem-Solving: Identify technical blockers or design constraints early, troubleshoot independently, and seek guidance promptly when needed.</li>
<li>Process &amp; Ownership: Follow client briefs, document routine tasks, double-check work before submission, and integrate feedback immediately into future assignments.</li>
<li>Adaptability: Maintain high quality and composure when project priorities or deadlines shift quickly.</li>
</ul>
Required Core Attributes
<ul>
<li>Ownership &amp; Initiative: You take full responsibility for your builds, track your own deadlines, and don't hide behind excuses when issues arise.</li>
<li>Early Communication: You speak up immediately when stuck, confused, or running behind schedule rather than waiting until a deadline passes.</li>
<li>Team-First Mindset: You enjoy collaborating with a close-knit group, thrive on feedback, and value long-term stability in an established agency setting over solo freelancing.</li>
<li>Stress Tolerance &amp; Speed: You work efficiently under fast-paced agency conditions while maintaining attention to detail and standard website functionality.</li>
</ul>
Technical QualificationsEssential
<ul>
<li>Proven experience building, editing, and launching complete websites on Wix.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of WordPress page builders, plugin setup, and site troubleshooting.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of responsive layout principles, mobile optimization, basic SEO hygiene, and site performance.</li>
</ul>
Preferred
<ul>
<li>Familiarity with Shopify or e-commerce integrations.</li>
<li>Basic understanding of custom code snippets (HTML/CSS) when platform tools reach their limit.</li>
</ul>
Working Environment &amp; Expectations
<ul>
<li>Location: In-office position in Wasilla, Alaska.</li>
<li>Trial &amp; Growth: Candidates complete a 90-day training/evaluation period. Demonstration of technical independence and alignment with team expectations can lead to earlier advancement to established rates.</li>
<li>Hiring Preference: We prioritize applicants who are seeking career stability inside an agency rather than those currently operating or building their own independent business.</li>
</ul>
Application Process
Applicants will complete an initial interview followed by a brief, paid work sample build that includes a realistic feedback and revision cycle to evaluate speed, execution accuracy, and collaboration style.
Advisor Recommendations for Selection
<ul>
<li>Screen for Entrepreneurial Intent: Filter candidates early during the intake interview by asking about their current side projects, agency contracts, or business ownership ambitions.</li>
<li>Paid Work Sample Structure: Provide a 2-hour paid test assignment creating a specific Wix section from a brief. Include one deliberate ambiguity and one required revision to evaluate whether they communicate early, handle fast-paced edits, and apply feedback accurately without defensiveness.</li>
<li>Collaboration Check: Ensure Chaney reviews the layout work sample for precision before final onboarding, as her C/S working style requires clear definitions of finished quality.</li>
</ul>
Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
Benefits:
<ul>
<li>401(k)</li>
<li>Paid time off</li>
<li>Professional development assistance</li>
</ul>
