Role & responsibilities

Implementation

• Requirements Gathering: Collaborating with stakeholders to analyze current warehouse workflows

(inbound, outbound, picking, etc.) and defining how the WMS should support them.

• System Configuration: Setting up the WMS software to match the warehouse's physical layout and

operational rules, such as wave picking or cycle counting.

• Integration Management: Coordinating with IT teams to ensure the WMS correctly interfaces with

other systems like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Transport Management Systems (TMS).

• Testing & Validation: Designing and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and integration tests to

ensure the system works as intended before the "go-live" date.

• User Training: Developing documentation and conducting hands-on training sessions for warehouse

staff and managers to ensure high adoption rates.

• Go-Live Support: Providing on-site assistance during the transition period to troubleshoot issues and

optimize performance in real-time.

System Maintenance:

• Monitoring overall system health, applying software patches or updates, and managing user access and

security permissions.

• Troubleshooting & Support: Serving as the first line of support for warehouse staff, resolving technical

glitches, and escalating complex issues to IT or software vendors.

• Data Integrity: Regularly auditing data to ensure physical inventory matches what is recorded in the

system and monitoring the flow of information between the WMS and other systems.

• Performance Reporting: Generating daily or weekly reports on key metrics such as picking accuracy,

order fulfillment speed, and labor productivity.

• Operational Configuration: Adjusting system settings to reflect physical changes in the warehouse, such

as adding new storage racks, changing picking paths, or introducing new SKUs.

• Continuous Training: Onboarding new employees on the software and providing refresher training for

existing staff when new features are introduced.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Top tier WMS platforms and technical skills like SQL for data analysis

and troubleshooting.

• Data mining for reporting:
• Understanding of the database schema
• SQL Query
• Understanding the logistics operations
• BI
• Building and maintaining Simple Interfaces
• SQL Interfaces
• API interfaces REST XML
• TEXT files (tab delimited etc.)
• Operational Knowledge: A deep understanding of supply chain logistics, inventory management,

warehouse processes, including receiving, put-away, wave picking, and cycle counting, and warehouse

automation tools like AS/RS or AMRs.

• Project Management: Experience with implementation methodologies and the ability to manage

timelines, risks, and resource planning.

• Communication: The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear instructions for non-

technical warehouse staff.

• Analytical Thinking: The ability to look at system logs or reports to identify why an order failed or

where a bottleneck is forming in the warehouse.
