Job Overview

Embark on an exciting journey into the world of womenswear fashion with our comprehensive Womenswear Apprenticeship program. This paid apprenticeship is designed to cultivate your passion for fashion, enhance your technical skills, and prepare you for a dynamic career in the apparel industry. You will gain hands-on experience working alongside seasoned professionals, learning the ins and outs of womenswear design, production, and retail. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your creative talents while understanding the business side of fashion, all within a vibrant and supportive environment.

Duties

• Assist in the development of womenswear collections by supporting design sketches, fabric selection, and pattern making processes
• Learn to operate and maintain sewing machines, cutting tables, and other garment production equipment with precision
• Support sample creation, fitting sessions, and quality control checks to ensure garments meet high standards
• Develop knowledge of fashion trends, color theory, and fabric properties to contribute meaningfully to design discussions
• Attend Las Vegas Apparel Trade Show - February 16th - 19th .
• Attend Atlanta Apparel Trade Show - February 2nd - 5th
• Attend Birmingham Trade Show - April 26th - 27th
• Attend one event a month.
• Travel is compensated by Liv Active

Experience

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Apparel Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Illustration, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Creative mindset with an eye for design and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with sewing machine and serger, comfortable using a sewing machine.
• Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma).
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Patternmaking experience or ability to learn on site.
• This internship is unpaid for experience and/or school credit.

Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week
