About the Role

Inspurate Business Services (IBS) is looking for a hands-on WordPress Developer to manage, maintain, and enhance a portfolio of existing client websites.

This is primarily an ongoing development and support role rather than a role focused only on building new websites. You will take day-to-day ownership of WordPress projects across financial services, e-commerce, healthcare, and other business sectors.

We are looking for someone who understands WordPress as a development platform, not simply as a collection of themes, page builders, and plugins.

How We Build with WordPress

Our approach is to keep WordPress installations lean, maintainable, and secure.

We use Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), custom post types, custom templates, and WordPress/PHP development to implement functionality wherever practical. We deliberately limit dependency on third-party plugins and do not believe every requirement should be solved by installing another plugin.

You should therefore be comfortable working directly with PHP, WordPress templates, hooks, functions, and existing code.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the day-to-day technical management of multiple existing WordPress websites, including:

• Maintaining and updating existing WordPress websites
• Developing and modifying WordPress themes and templates
• Building structured content using ACF and custom post types
• Making PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript changes
• Troubleshooting WordPress, theme, and plugin issues
• Investigating and resolving website errors and production issues
• Implementing client-requested functionality and website changes
• Supporting WooCommerce websites and resolving routine e-commerce issues
• Managing WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates safely
• Performing backups, migrations, and staging-to-production deployments
• Identifying performance problems and implementing optimizations
• Following appropriate WordPress security practices
• Working with hosting environments, databases, DNS, and control panels when required
• Testing changes across desktop and mobile devices before deployment
• Maintaining clean, understandable, and reusable code
• Using Git/version control for development work
• Providing clear updates on tasks, problems, and completed work
• Pay attention to cybersecurity and vulnerabilities, and make updates on existing platforms as and when required.

You may also work on new WordPress websites and other web projects as IBS takes on new clients.

Required Skills

You should have practical experience with:

• WordPress development and administration
• PHP
• Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
• Custom post types and taxonomies
• WordPress themes and template hierarchy
• WordPress hooks, actions, and filters
• HTML5 and CSS3
• JavaScript/jQuery
• MySQL and basic database troubleshooting
• Responsive website development
• Git/version control
• Website hosting, cPanel or similar environments
• Website backups and migrations
• WordPress performance optimization
• Basic WordPress security practices

Preferred Experience

Experience with the following would be an advantage:

• WooCommerce
• WordPress REST API and third-party API integrations
• Gutenberg/custom blocks
• SEO implementation and Yoast
• Cloudflare
• Linux/hosting environments
• Working on corporate or high-traffic websites
• Maintaining websites developed by other developers

What We're Looking For

This position would suit someone with approximately 2–4 years of hands-on WordPress development experience, although demonstrated ability matters more to us than the number of years on your CV.

You should be comfortable opening an unfamiliar WordPress project, understanding how it has been built, diagnosing a problem, and implementing a sensible solution.

We particularly value developers who can write and understand code rather than relying heavily on page builders and third-party plugins.

You should also be:

• Comfortable managing several websites and tasks at the same time
• Able to investigate problems independently
• Careful when making changes to production websites
• Able to communicate clearly about technical issues
• Willing to learn unfamiliar systems when required
• Comfortable taking ownership of a task from problem identification through testing and completion

Final compensation will depend on practical WordPress/PHP experience and performance during the technical assessment.

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a practical WordPress development exercise focusing on PHP, ACF, troubleshooting, and working with an existing WordPress codebase.

Pay: Rs60,000.00 - Rs80,000.00 per month
