Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and hands-on WordPress Developer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for developing, customising, maintaining, and optimising websites for our clients.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical experience with WordPress and Shopify, along with a good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive development, website troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.

The candidate should be comfortable working independently, handling multiple client requirements, and coordinating with designers, SEO, social media, and account management teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop, customise, and maintain websites using WordPress and Shopify.
• Customise WordPress themes, templates, plugins, and website functionality based on project requirements.
• Develop responsive and mobile-friendly websites across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and basic PHP for website development and customisation.
• Configure and customise Shopify stores, themes, products, collections, and other store settings.
• Integrate and manage third-party plugins, tools, APIs, and website integrations.
• Convert website designs and layouts into functional, responsive websites.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve website bugs, technical issues, and compatibility problems.
• Conduct website testing across different browsers and devices before deployment.
• Optimise websites for speed, performance, responsiveness, and basic SEO requirements.
• Handle website updates, maintenance, backups, migrations, and technical improvements.
• Implement basic on-page and technical SEO requirements in coordination with the SEO team.
• Manage website hosting, domains, DNS, cPanel, and related technical requirements when required.
• Coordinate with designers and internal teams to understand requirements and deliver projects within timelines.
• Handle multiple client websites and ensure timely resolution of technical requirements.
• Take ownership of assigned website projects from development through deployment and maintenance.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in WordPress development.
• Strong practical knowledge of WordPress themes, plugins, customisation, and development.
• Hands-on experience with Shopify and Shopify theme/store customisation.
• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Basic working knowledge of PHP.
• Strong understanding of responsive web development.
• Experience with website builders such as Elementor, WPBakery, or similar tools.
• Experience working with plugins, APIs, and third-party integrations.
• Good understanding of website troubleshooting and debugging.
• Knowledge of website performance and speed optimisation.
• Basic understanding of SEO-friendly website development.
• Ability to independently identify and resolve technical issues.
• Good understanding of cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Good to Have

• Experience working in a digital marketing or web development agency.
• Experience handling multiple client websites.
• Knowledge of WooCommerce.
• Experience with website migrations and hosting.
• Knowledge of cPanel, DNS, SSL, and domain management.
• Familiarity with Google Search Console and Google Analytics.
• Basic knowledge of Git/version control.
• Experience with custom API integrations.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who is technically hands-on and capable of working independently. The candidate should be able to understand a requirement, develop or customise the website, troubleshoot issues, and deliver the final output with minimal supervision.

Candidates whose experience is limited to basic WordPress content updates, uploading pages, or only using page builders without development/customisation experience may not be suitable for this role.
