What they need
Be Bold. Belong. Be More.
At Southern Cross University, we do things differently, and so can you.
A career with us is more than you might expect. Yes, it’s about the heart, connectedness and community you’d hope for in a regional university. But there’s also so much more. Our game changing Southern Cross Model brings a deeper, focused learning experience and our research is deeply connected to our regions, making a difference on a global scale. This is your chance to help us build something new and meaningful for our students, our communities and your career. To drive change, make a real impact, and thrive in a place as unique as you.
You can be good anywhere. Here, you can be great.
Your opportunity
Southern Cross University’s Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Unit plays a critical role in supporting thousands of student placement experiences each year across health and related disciplines. Working closely with students, academics and industry partners, the team ensures placements are well coordinated, compliant and aligned to professional accreditation requirements.
As Work Integrated Learning Coordinator, you will play a key role in connecting Nursing students with meaningful placement opportunities while building strong relationships with host organisations and supporting students throughout their placement journey.
You will make an impact by:
- Coordinating large volumes of student placements across multiple disciplines while ensuring deadlines, compliance requirements and accreditation standards are met
- Supporting students, academics and placement providers by resolving placement issues and providing responsive, solutions focused advice
- Undertaking placement risk assessment and agreement processes to support safe and compliant learning environments
- Maintaining accurate placement records, reporting and student data across systems and databases
What you will bring
You’re highly organised, relationship-focused and thrive in fast-moving environments where accuracy, communication and problem solving are essential. You enjoy working with a broad range of stakeholders and can confidently balance competing priorities while delivering a high level of service and support.
To succeed in this role, you will also need:
- A relevant qualification and experience in a high-volume coordination, client service or stakeholder focused role
- Strong relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, academics and external partners
- Experience interpreting policies, procedures or compliance requirements and applying them accurately in practice
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and complex administrative processes
- Confident using databases, digital systems and Microsoft Office, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and processes
While not essential, we’d love it if you had previous experience in a Higher Education setting, or working with student placements. If you don’t have this experience but still think your skillset would be a great fit, we still encourage you to apply.
