Work Preparator - Steel

Basic Duties & Responsibilities

1. Identifying the scope of work from Owner’s specifications, tenders, work lists and onboard and shop inspections.

2. Preparation and updating of ship’s weight files for structural repairs and files for miscellaneous steel repairs.

3. Preparation and updating of ‘’Mark-up’’ drawings and weight estimations.

4. Preparation of proposal drawings for approval.

5. Preparation of fabrication drawings and work processes.

6. Preparation of pipe renewal plans and reports after completion of the works.

7. Preparation of ‘as built’ drawings & reports for steel renewal works in liaison with engineering department after completion of the jobs if required.

8. Requesting Materials.

9. Man-hours estimation for work processes.

10. Developing work descriptions.

11. Liaison with owner representative, Ship Managers, Invoicers , other trades and other sections of steel Department.

12. Coordinate with onsite supervisors, give technical information to onsite team for the smooth execution of the jobs.

13. Get day to day update on the job progress onsite, monitor the progress with planned completion dates and highlights lead/lag to the ship manager.

14. Identify any production bottle neck, inform the ship manager/ coordinator, and take necessary steps to mitigate the time delay.

Required Qualification & Competencies

1. Diploma or ITI in Mechanical.

2. Minimum 4-6-Years of experience in ship repair activities.

3. Computer literate –AutoCAD, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, drawing softwares

4. Good communication skills in English – Read,Write & Speak.

5.Knowledge of shipbuilding/ship repair processes, standards and specification.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
