What they need

He kōrero mō mātou | About us
Waikato Waters is a brand-new, publicly owned water utility bringing together water and wastewater services across the Waikato region — built from the ground up to deliver for communities today and for generations to come.

Te tūranga | The role
Reporting to the Works Programme Lead, the Works Programme Coordinator manages the day-to-day flow of fault jobs, planned works, reinstatements, complaints and customer connections — ensuring work orders are created, tracked, communicated and closed accurately and on time. This is a coordination and data accuracy role at the operational heart of the business, requiring willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment.

Ō mahi | What you’ll do

  • Receive service requests, create work orders, assign jobs to field crews and track progress through to completion
  • Provide regular job status updates to councils and customers in line with urgency and agreed communication protocols
  • Obtain field updates, manage schedule changes, flag delays and support daily stand-ups with accurate information
  • Manage specialist jobs including reinstatements, complaints, new connections and planned shutdowns
  • Maintain accurate job, time, cost and completion data in Infor; support field teams to meet data requirements
  • Contribute to SLA reporting and trend analysis

Ō pūkenga | What you’ll bring
You are an operationally minded coordinator with experience in a council or utility environment — reliable, accurate and able to keep multiple balls in the air in a fast-moving, 24/7 setting.

  • Experience working in a council customer-related or utility operations environment
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
  • Experience with work management systems (Infor or similar)
  • Ability to manage change and ambiguity in a fast-moving operational environment
  • Willingness to operate in a 24/7 environment
  • Full driver’s licence (essential)

He aha ai mātou | Why join us
Waikato Waters is being built once — and you’d be part of that. The work is real, the impact is visible, and the team we’re assembling is genuinely exceptional. We offer competitive remuneration, health insurance, and hybrid working where the role allows.
