Workday Payroll & Time Tracking Implementation Consultant

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Workday Implementation Consultant to join our team and lead or co-lead payroll, time tracking, and absence workstreams for customer implementations.

This is a project-based implementation role, not a day-to-day production support position. You’ll work directly with customers to understand their requirements, configure and implement Workday solutions, facilitate sessions, and help guide projects through successful deployment.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is confident engaging with customers, comfortable leading calls and workshops, and able to take ownership of their workstream environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead or co-lead Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and/or Absence Management workstreams during customer implementations.
• Partner with customers to understand business requirements and translate them into effective Workday solutions.
• Facilitate customer-facing workshops and working sessions, including FAS and/or CSE sessions.
• Own implementation activities throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and configuration through testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Workday consultants and customer stakeholders to identify dependencies and resolve implementation challenges.
• Communicate project status, requirements, decisions, and risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Build strong customer relationships and confidently represent the implementation team on remote calls.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, knowledge transfer, and go-live activities as part of the implementation lifecycle.

What We’re Looking For

• Hands-on experience implementing Workday for customers, ideally as a consultant or implementation lead.

• With Workday Certification is a must-have

• Demonstrated experience owning or co-leading a workstream during a Workday rollout.

• Strong experience with Workday Time Tracking and/or Absence Management.

• Experience running or facilitating FAS or CSE sessions is highly desirable.

• Strong customer-facing communication skills and the ability to create engagement and presence during virtual meetings.

Highly Desirable

• Experience with both Time Tracking and Absence Management.
• Australian payroll experience, including familiarity with Australian payroll terminology, processes, and requirements.
• Experience implementing payroll solutions for Australian customers.
• Experience working across multiple Workday functional areas or coordinating dependencies between workstreams.

Important: Implementation Experience Required

This role is specifically focused on customer implementations and Workday rollouts.

We’re looking for candidates who have actively owned or co-led Time Tracking, Absence Management, and/or Payroll workstreams as part of an implementation project.

Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to day-to-day production support, ticket resolution, or ongoing system administration without hands-on implementation ownership are unlikely to be the right fit.
