Workday Integration & Data Conversion Lead

About the role

The Workday Integration & Data Conversion Lead is responsible for designing, managing, and delivering end-to-end Workday integrations and data migration activities across Workday implementations, enhancements, and support initiatives. This role leads the technical workstream for inbound and outbound integrations, data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, and loading activities while ensuring alignment with business, security, compliance, and architecture requirements. The incumbent will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, HR, Payroll, Finance, IT teams, third-party vendors, and system integrators to ensure seamless system connectivity and high-quality data migration into Workday.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of Workday integrations
• Define integration architecture and ensure adherence to enterprise integration standards
• Oversee development using Workday integration technologies including Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Workday Studio, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs), and Workday Extend integrations
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, Benefits, Talent, and IT teams to gather integration requirements
• Coordinate integration testing including Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and End-to-End Testing
• Define and execute data migration strategies for Workday deployments
• Lead data extraction activities from legacy HR, Payroll, Finance, and Talent Management systems
• Establish data quality checkpoints and governance processes
• Act as the primary technical lead for integration and data conversion workstreams
• Mentor junior integration developers and data conversion analysts

About you

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline
• 8+ years of experience in enterprise HR systems, ERP implementations, or integration development
• 5+ years of hands-on Workday Integration and Data Conversion experience
• Proven experience leading Workday implementation projects from design through deployment
• Experience migrating large volumes of HR, Payroll, Recruiting, Talent, Benefits, Time Tracking, or Finance data
• Strong hands-on experience with Workday HCM, Workday Security Framework, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Workday Web Services, Workday Extend, and Integration Event Monitoring
• Experience with XML, XSLT, JSON, REST and SOAP APIs, SQL and relational databases, ETL and data migration tools
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional technical and business teams
• Experience managing vendors and system integrators
