Workday Specialist

We are currently partnering with an organisation to recruit a Workday Specialist for a 7-month fixed-term contract. Based in Wellington, this role serves as a key functional resource to support, configure and optimise People Technology platforms, with a central focus on leading the deployment of Workday Recruitment and/or Talent Optimisation modules in partnership with an external implementation partner.

What you will be doing

• Module Deployment: Partner with implementation specialists and internal stakeholders to lead the configuration, testing, validation, and deployment.
• System Administration & Support: Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within core HCM and HR modules.
• Process Optimisation: Identify opportunities to simplify People and Culture workflows, reduce manual effort, and strengthen employee and leader self-service.
• Release & System Updates: Lead validation, defect resolution, and release readiness activities for Workday changes, updates, and new features.
• Reporting & Insights: Build and maintain custom Workday reports, dashboards, and people insights to support operational delivery and strategic decision-making.

What we are looking for

• Workday Experience: Proven hands-on experience in a Workday, HRIS, or HR Technology role involving business process support, and testing.
• Targeted Module Knowledge: Direct experience with Workday Recruitment and/or Workday Talent Optimisation is highly regarded.
• Technical Skills: Confident in Workday business processes, system controls, and building custom reports or dashboards (Power BI exposure is a plus).
• Collaboration & Problem Solving: Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate business requirements into practical system solutions.
