What they need

Are you a licensed California attorney looking to build your legal career or explore a new practice area? Legal Corner Law Office is a growing plaintiff-side law firm focused on helping individuals navigate difficult legal situations and pursue meaningful results. We believe strong legal representation should also feel human. Our clients want an attorney who will listen to them, explain what is happening, and confidently advocate on their behalf. Prior workers’ compensation experience is not required. We welcome newly licensed attorneys, recent law school graduates who have passed the California Bar, and experienced attorneys from all practice areas. We provide training and mentorship to help you develop your skills and build a successful career in workers’ compensation law.

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated Workers’ Compensation Associate Attorney to join our growing team. You’ll represent employees who have been injured at work and help them navigate the California workers’ compensation process. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience with case strategy, depositions, hearings, settlement negotiations, and client representation. You’ll also work closely with our legal team to coordinate medical evaluations, review case developments, and help clients pursue the medical treatment, benefits, and compensation they deserve. Whether you're a newly licensed attorney beginning your career or an experienced attorney interested in transitioning into workers’ compensation, our team will provide the training, resources, and support to help you succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage workers’ compensation cases from inception through resolution, with guidance and support as needed
  • Develop case strategies and evaluate claims
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case-related documents
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare for and appear at hearings, settlement conferences, and other proceedings
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance representatives
  • Review medical records, evaluations, and other case-related documentation
  • Coordinate with legal staff regarding Qualified Medical Evaluations (QMEs), medical records, and case preparation
  • Prepare clients for depositions, hearings, medical evaluations, and other important stages of their cases
  • Communicate with clients regarding case developments, benefits, treatment, and next steps
  • Collaborate with attorneys, case managers, and legal staff to move cases toward resolution
  • Develop a strong understanding of California workers’ compensation laws, procedures, and Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) processes

What We’re Looking For

  • Active California Bar License (Required)
  • Newly licensed attorneys and experienced attorneys are encouraged to apply
  • No prior workers’ compensation or litigation experience required
  • Strong interest in litigation, negotiation, and client advocacy
  • Attorneys from all legal backgrounds and practice areas are welcome
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn depositions, hearings, negotiations, and case management
  • Ability to explain complicated legal issues in a clear and reassuring way
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented approach
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the workers’ compensation practice area

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive training and mentorship in California workers’ compensation law
  • Opportunity for newly licensed attorneys to gain hands-on legal experience
  • Opportunity for experienced attorneys to transition into a new practice area
  • Hands-on litigation, deposition, hearing, and negotiation experience
  • Direct involvement in case strategy and client representation
  • Experienced support team to help move cases forward
  • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement
  • Collaborative, fast-growing work environment
  • Competitive base salary: $110,000-$135,000, based on experience + bonuses
  • High earning potential of $200,000+ annually, including performance-based bonuses

Benefits

  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off

Whether you're just starting your legal career or looking for a new opportunity, we encourage you to apply. You do not need prior workers’ compensation experience to succeed in this role. We’re looking for attorneys who are eager to learn, motivated to grow, and passionate about advocating for injured workers.
