Working Electrical Supervisor

Genco Electrical Projects Limited is looking for an experienced working electrician with supervisory experience to join our team.

The role will involve managing electricians and apprentices across a number of sites, making sure work is completed safely, to the required standard and within agreed timeframes. Our projects are based across the UK and cover a range of sectors, including education, healthcare, hospitality and MOD.

We are looking for someone who can take responsibility for their sites and support the team by being hands on and also working on the tools, but also someone who is willing to share their knowledge and experience to help develop our existing workforce, particularly our apprentices and less experienced electricians.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating electricians and apprentices across multiple sites.
• Being an integral part of the team by working on the tools alongside the electricians.
• Liaising with management regarding project timeframes, labour requirements and progress.
• Ensuring electrical work is completed safely and in line with current regulations and required standards.
• Planning and organising site activities to keep projects running smoothly and on schedule.
• Carrying out site safety checks and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
• Supporting electricians with any technical issues or problems that arise on site.
• Providing guidance and mentoring to electricians and apprentices, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
• Identifying training needs and supporting the development of existing employees.
• Liaising with project managers, clients and other trades where required.
• Monitoring site materials and stock, liaising with the office to ensure materials are available when needed and projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Providing regular updates to management on site progress and any issues that may affect the project.
• Leading by example and promoting good working practices across the team.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience as an approved electrician, with experience supervising or leading a team.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• Inspection and testing qualification (2391 or equivalent), with relevant experience.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple electricians and apprentices across different sites.
• A willingness to share knowledge and support the development of other members of the team.
• A practical approach to problem-solving and dealing with issues on site.
• A flexible approach to working away from home when required.
• A full UK driving licence.

Relevant electrical qualifications and current industry certifications are essential for the role.
