Working Foreman / Lead Carpenter

Akcurat Construction LLC is seeking an experienced Working Foreman / Lead Carpenter to join our growing residential remodeling and commercial construction team.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can lead field personnel, maintain quality standards, and help keep projects moving efficiently while actively participating in the work.

The ideal candidate is dependable, experienced, organized, and capable of working independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily field production
• Perform hands-on carpentry and general construction work
• Complete framing, layout, and installation work
• Install doors, trim, cabinets, shelving, fixtures, and finishes
• Assist with flooring, drywall, demolition, and remodeling work
• Read plans, measurements, drawings, and project scopes
• Maintain workmanship and quality standards
• Identify and communicate field issues before they affect the project
• Coordinate daily tool and material needs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
• Provide job progress updates and photos
• Help train and direct less-experienced team members
• Maintain productivity and project schedules
• Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, and project representatives

Qualifications

• Previous residential or commercial construction experience
• Strong carpentry and general construction knowledge
• Previous leadership or crew-lead experience preferred
• Strong measuring, layout, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Professional attitude and appearance
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to travel to assigned project locations throughout Northeast Ohio
• Ability to safely lift and handle construction materials

Preferred Experience

Experience in several of the following areas is preferred:

• Framing
• Finish carpentry
• Doors and trim
• Cabinet installation
• Fixture installation
• Flooring
• Drywall
• Commercial tenant improvements
• Residential remodeling

Position Expectations

This is a working leadership position, not a supervisory-only role.

The Working Foreman / Lead Carpenter will be expected to actively participate in construction work while helping direct field operations, maintain quality, and keep assigned work progressing efficiently.

Candidates should be comfortable taking ownership of daily jobsite responsibilities and working with management to meet project expectations.

Schedule

Primarily Monday–Friday.

Some commercial projects may require early-morning, evening, overnight, or occasional weekend work depending on project requirements.

Compensation

$24–$28 per hour based on experience and demonstrated ability.
