Workshop and Logistics Technician

Driveline are looking for a practical, mechanically minded person to join our team, working on specialist diesel exhaust cleaning and refurbishment.

Driveline work on everything from cars and vans to trucks, buses, coaches, plant, agricultural, marine and industrial equipment.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on position including:

• Collections and deliveries of exhaust systems, parts and materials
• Booking incoming jobs onto our workflow system
• Disassembly and reassembly of exhaust systems
• Cutting and grinding exhaust components
• Coring out old DPF, catalyst and exhaust components
• Cleaning exhaust systems
• Testing cleaned and refurbished components using our test equipment
• Cleaning and polishing refurbished exhaust systems ready for return to the customer
• Operating our CNC plasma cutting table
• Booking stock and parts in and out
• Picking, packing and shipping parts orders
• General workshop duties
• Possibly MIG welding and light fabrication, depending on experience

What We're Looking For

Experience in exhaust systems isn't essential – we can teach the specialist side.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Practical and mechanically minded
• Confident using basic computer/workflow systems
• Confident using hand and power tools
• Comfortable with cutting, grinding and workshop machinery
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently
• Happy driving and dealing with customers during collections and deliveries
• Keen to learn new skills and take on more responsibility
• Looking for a role with genuine opportunity to develop

A full UK driving licence is essential.

For the right person, we see this developing beyond a basic workshop role, with the opportunity to gain specialist technical skills and progress into greater responsibility as the business grows.

Attitude, practical ability and willingness to learn are more important to us than having the perfect CV.

Pay: £30,000.00 per year
