You will work closely with QC, engineering, operations, and other relevant stakeholders to maintain technical standards, resolve operational issues, and continuously improve workshop performance. Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring activities are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established quality standards.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor workshop activities to ensure production targets, schedules, and operational requirements are achieved.
  • Develop and implement improvement initiatives to optimize workshop productivity, resource utilization, work processes, and overall performance.
  • Monitor the condition, availability, and utilization of workshop equipment, tools, and resources to support smooth operations.
  • Coordinate with QC Inspectors to ensure quality standards are consistently maintained and identify opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Identify operational issues, investigate root causes, and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, company procedures, and workplace safety standards across workshop activities.
  • Monitor team performance and provide direction, coaching, and guidance to workshop personnel to improve technical capabilities and productivity.
  • Foster a positive, disciplined, and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support vessel repair, maintenance, production, and other shipyard-related requirements.
  • Prepare and provide operational updates, performance reports, and recommendations to management.
  • Perform other workshop-related projects and assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum D4/S1 degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 6 years of leader/coordinator or supervisory experience in a similar workshop/technical role, preferably within the shipping, shipyard, marine, or related industrial sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on understanding of machining, mechanical engine, mechanical governor, welding, hydraulic, and turbocharger processes.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple technical workshop functions and coordinating technical teams.
  • Strong leadership, people management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of workshop planning, production processes, equipment utilization, and operational performance.
  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations, quality control standards, and relevant workshop procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proactive, accountable, and able to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced operational environment.
  • Willing to be placed in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

At Waruna Shipping Group, you'll have the opportunity to lead a critical part of our technical operations and work alongside experienced professionals across our shipping and shipyard businesses.
