Workshop Assistant

Job Overview

The workshop assistant will support the day to day running of the workshop and assist with the handling, finishing, installation preparation of granite and other worktop materials. The role requires a reliable, hardworking individual who can work safely, follow instructions and contribute as part of a team. Our workshop deals with low or zero silica products only.

Duties

• Assisting with the preparation and production of granite worktops
• Loading, unloading and safely moving materials and finished worktops
• Assisting skilled workshop staff with cutting, edging, polishing, finishing and preparation work
• Preparing worktops and materials for installation and delivery
• Keeping the workshop clean, tidy and organised at all times
• Ensuring tools, equipment and machinery are cleaned and stored correctly
• Assisting with stock checks and ensuring materials are stored correctly
• Helping to load company vehicles for installations
• Assisting and supporting the team with installations where required
• Following all company health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE
• Reporting damaged equipment or materials to the workshop manager
• Carrying out general workshop duties as required
• Working efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.

Training and Development

You do not need previous experience in the workshop industry to apply although some experience maybe an advantage.

Pay: From £26,437.00 per year
