Workshop Controller

JAX Tyes & Auto Penrith are looking for a hands-on, driven Workshop Controller who’s ready to take ownership of our day-to-day operations and performance of our busy, automotive workshop.

The role

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, workflow, and resource allocation.
• You’ll be the go-to person for complex diagnostics and technical support as well as apprentices.
• Providing leadership and mentoring to the workshop team, fostering a positive and productive work environment
• Ensure JAX Inspect is completed on all vehicles and all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and in compliance with industry regulations
• You’ll work closely with front -of-house-staff to assist in delivering a seamless customer experience
• Provide Service Advise to customers when required

About You

• Extensive experience in a similar workshop controller or automotive workshop management role.
• Confident leader who can motivate without micromanaging and mentor
• Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
• A proven track record of leading and motivating a team to achieve high levels of performance
• 5 years’ experience as a qualified mechanic with hands-on experience across tyres and alignment,
• Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology (Preferred)
• AIS Certificate
• Organised, calm under pressure, and results-focused
• Current driver’s licence
