Workshop Electrician - Lifting Equipment & Control Systems
Perth, WA | Permanent Opportunity
Take the Lead in a Hands-On Workshop Environment
We are currently seeking an experienced Workshop Electrician to join a growing specialist business working with lifting equipment, electrical systems and control panels.
This is a hands-on workshop-based role suited to an electrician who enjoys working with their tools, fault finding, electrical fit-outs and control systems — and ideally someone who has previous Leading Hand or Supervisor experience and is ready to take the next step.
You'll play a key role in the workshop, working across jibs, lifting equipment, control panels and associated electrical systems, while helping coordinate day-to-day workshop activities and supporting other tradespeople.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Electrical installation, wiring and fit-out of jibs and lifting equipment
- Building, wiring and testing electrical control panels
- Fault finding, testing and commissioning electrical systems
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and drawings
- Diagnosing electrical faults and carrying out repairs
- Electrical maintenance and modifications
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Working closely with mechanical trades and workshop personnel
- Assisting with workshop planning and coordinating daily tasks
- Providing technical guidance and support to other electricians and tradespeople
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and workmanship
- Taking a Leading Hand / Supervisor role when required
About You
We are looking for a qualified electrician with solid hands-on workshop experience. Ideally, you will have worked with lifting equipment, cranes, jibs, control panels, industrial machinery or similar electrical systems.
You will ideally have:
- Australian Electrical Trade Qualification / A-Grade Electrical Licence
- Strong workshop-based electrical experience
- Experience wiring and fault-finding control panels
- Experience working on jibs, lifting equipment or industrial machinery is highly desirable
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- A safety-first approach to your work
- Excellent attention to detail and quality
- Previous Leading Hand, Supervisor or 2IC experience would be highly regarded
- The ability to work independently while also leading and supporting a small team
Why Join?
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced electrician who wants more than just another workshop role.
You'll have the opportunity to work on specialised lifting equipment and control systems, take ownership of your work and potentially step into a Leading Hand / Supervisory capacity.
If you're a qualified electrician with strong industrial workshop experience and you're looking for a role where your technical skills and leadership experience will be genuinely valued, we'd like to hear from you.
