Workshop Manager

About the role

Diesel Repairs Direct WA is looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our busy and growing Karratha workshop. This is a key leadership position suited to someone who is highly organised, commercially minded and knows how to keep a busy mechanical workshop running efficiently. You'll be responsible for managing workflow from the initial client request right through to job completion, ensuring our team, parts, scheduling and customer communication are all kept on track.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Karratha workshop
• Schedule and coordinate workshop jobs, trades and resources
• Prepare quotes and scopes of work for clients
• Coordinate parts ordering, availability and job requirements
• Prioritise incoming work and manage workshop capacity
• Liaise directly with clients regarding bookings, repairs and job progress
• Allocate work to technicians and monitor productivity
• Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and within expected timeframes
• Review completed works and ensure job documentation is accurate
• Work closely with our operations and administration teams

About you

• Has previous experience managing or supervising a busy mechanical workshop
• Has strong mechanical knowledge – heavy diesel experience will be highly regarded
• Can confidently quote mechanical repairs and maintenance works
• Understands parts, labour requirements and workshop scheduling
• Is highly organised and able to manage multiple jobs and priorities at once
• Has strong leadership and communication skills
• Is confident dealing directly with clients
• Takes ownership and gets things done
• Works well in a fast-paced environment
