Workshop Manager

SWB Plus have an exciting opportunity to join our team leading our Dingley operation in the role of Workshop Manager. Reporting through to the General Manager, we are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to implement and drive change.

SWB Plus have 9 Engineering Workshops nationally, our Dingley workshop provides the following services to the market including Manual Turning, N.C Turning, Manual Milling and N.C Milling.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following;

• Leading and developing a team of 12-15 staff (includes Fitter & Turners, CNC Operators, Stores, Engineering Apprentice and Project Co-Ordinator
• Diagnose and quote as per the requirements of the job, and liaise with the customer accordingly
• Manage day to day workflow within the workshop, ensuring deadlines and priorities are met and customers are informed
• Proactive safety leadership and alignment to SWB Plus’s Work Health and Safety program to ensure that safety goals are achieved, and ensure a safe and healthy environment is maintained
• Review and report on Operational performance including the monthly Forecasting matrix and annual budgeting requirements
• Responsible for site compliance requirements including the implementing and reviewing of quality control processes and procedures

 To be successful in your application you must satisfy the following;

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Demonstratable experience in a CNC and/or Milling environment
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical, Fitter/Turner and/or Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent)
