Workshop Manager / Fleet Maintenance Manager

Key Responsibilities:-

• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance of the heavy-vehicle fleet.
• Lead workshop mechanics, technicians, and support staff.
• Plan workshop manpower, shifts, resources, and maintenance schedules.
• Manage 24/7 roadside/in-transit breakdown response, mobile repair teams, recovery, and towing.
• Monitor spare parts, tyres, oils, consumables, inventory, and procurement.
• Prepare workshop budgets, control maintenance costs, and manage vendors.
• Maintain vehicle service records, breakdown logs, fleet MIS, and downtime reports.
• Ensure fleet compliance with LATRA, WMA, roadworthiness, insurance, OSHA, and safety requirements.
• Troubleshoot recurring technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure 5S, safety, housekeeping, and workshop best practices.

Candidate Requirements :-

• 8 to 10 years of experience in heavy commercial vehicle workshop/fleet maintenance.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Scania R420, HOWO, FAW, bulkers, and trailers.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, braking, and electrical systems.
• Experience in fleet/workshop management, breakdown maintenance, spare parts, budgeting, and vendor management.
• Prior experience managing heavy commercial vehicle fleets in Tanzania is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of LATRA, WMA, Usalama Barabarani, and OSHA/ISO 45001 requirements is an advantage.
• Valid Class C/D Tanzanian driving license is an added advantage.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
