Job Role: Workshop Operative

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Working Hours: 7.00 am – 3.30 pm Monday to Friday. Additional hours may be required depending on business requirements.

Location: OPICO Limited, Cherry Holt Road, Bourne, Lincolnshire, PE10 9LA

We are looking for a workshop operative to support the assembly, preparation and finishing of agricultural machinery at our busy workshop based in Bourne. This hands-on role would be ideal for someone who enjoys practical work and learning new skills. The role is varied and offers the opportunity to develop technical skills over time.

Responsibilities:

• Assembly of agricultural machinery following instructions and drawings
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly
• Preparation of machinery for sales and shows
• Support workshop tasks such as drilling, fitting, bolting, and mechanical assembly
• Carry out quality checks to ensure finished products meet company standards
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe workshop environment
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times, and complete checks and inspections
• Assist colleagues and supervisors with general workshop duties as required
• Learn and develop new skills through on-the-job training

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

• Willingness to learn and take instruction
• Good practical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic

Desirable:

• Previous experience operating; Forklift, Tractor, Telehandler, Overhead Cranes
• Previous experience in an assembly role in a workshop environment
