Workshop Team Leader

About the role

This is a hands-on Workshop Team Leader role leading a small Brisbane team and coordinating daily workshop and warehouse operations. Alongside organising work and supporting the team, you'll assemble products, prepare customer orders and assist with stock handling and dispatch.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily work to meet customer orders and delivery commitments.
• Provide clear direction and support to team members.
• Assemble portable toilets and other sanitation products using hand and power tools.
• Check product quality and order accuracy before dispatch.
• Coordinate receiving, stock storage, picking, packing, loading and unloading.
• Assist customers with collections and enquiries professionally and courteously.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to give clear instructions, keep management informed and deal professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Ensure workshop procedures and safe work practices are followed.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop.
• Carry out occasional local pickups and deliveries.

About you

• A trade background in carpentry, cabinetmaking, fabrication or a similar hands-on field, ideally with experience in workshop assembly and warehouse operations.
• Previous experience leading a small team or coordinating workshop activities.
• Confidence using hand and power tools.
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise work.
• A practical approach to solving problems and good attention to detail.
• Clear communication and a calm, respectful approach to leading others.
• Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to help across the workshop.
• A valid driver's licence.
• A forklift licence is desirable.
