Enjoy working in construction and helping others develop industry skills?

The Bicester Construction Centre is looking for a proactive and hands-on individual to support our Carpentry and Plumbing curriculum areas. This role would particularly suit someone with a background in the construction industry who is keen to share their knowledge and experience with the next generation of tradespeople.

Whether your experience comes from Carpentry, Plumbing, property maintenance, site work, or a related trade environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Support learners during practical Carpentry and Plumbing workshop sessions.
  • Prepare, maintain and organise tools, materials, equipment and teaching areas.
  • Ensure workshops remain safe, compliant and ready for practical delivery.
  • Assist lecturers with demonstrations, practical activities and learner assessments.
  • Help create an engaging and professional learning environment that reflects industry standards.
  • Support open events, employer engagement activities, competitions and enrichment opportunities, including occasional driving of the College minibus.

What We're Looking For

  • Industry experience within Carpentry, Plumbing, or a related construction trade.
  • Good practical skills and a strong understanding of workshop health and safety.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • A positive attitude and a genuine desire to support and develop learners.
  • Good IT, English and Maths skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
  • A willingness to undertake training to drive the College minibus if required.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson to use their industry knowledge to support learner success and help shape the future construction workforce at our Bicester Construction Centre.

Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to use their practical skills in a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to the next generation of skilled professionals.

Why Work with Us

Excellent benefits for our employees including generous pension and holiday schemes (with potential Christmas closure days), continued professional development, flexible working options, corporate gym membership, cycle/tech scheme and much more.
