WSH Officer (Construction / A1 Main Contractor )

About the role

This role involves inspecting and evaluating the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards, while protecting employees, customers and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards
• Protect employees, customers and the environment
• Recommend changes to protect workers, and educate employees on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs
• Identify potentially hazardous materials
• Investigate accidents to identify their causes and find ways to prevent them in the future
• Ensure that monthly inspection of Fire Extinguishers, Exit Lights and Emergency Lighting are carried out
• Formulate and administer comprehensive Risk Management and review safe work procedure
• Prepare and update Safety and Health Management System
• Implement training programs and safety promotion plan to ensure safety awareness that the operations are safe and in compliance with statutory regulations and international standards/practices
• Lead and manage safety inspections and audits; provide advisory roles for internal audit team

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in occupational health, safety, engineering or equivalent
• Qualified safety practitioner who is MOM registered WSH Officer and/or qualified Fire Safety Manager
• Possess NEA registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO)
• Certificates in QEHS Internal Auditing (ISO 9001, ISO 140001, OHSAS 18001)
• Minimum 5 years working experience
• Familiar with regulatory requirements related to workplace safety and health, and all other aspects of safety
