X-Ray Technician

JOB OVERVIEW: Performs diagnostic imaging procedures using radiographic equipment to assist providers in diagnosing and treating patients.

Weekends required.

Flexible schedule required.

Applicant must be willing to learn medical assisting as well.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

· Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures as ordered by provider

· Explain imaging procedures to patients and answer questions

· Position patients correctly to obtain clear and accurate diagnostic images

· Monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and comfort

· Operate radiographic equipment safely and effectively

· Ensure images meet quality standards and properly labeled prior to submission for provider review

· Follow radiation safety protocols and use appropriate shielding to minimize patient and staff exposure

· Accurately document imaging procedures and patient information in the electronic health record (EHR)

· Maintain and inspect radiology equipment to ensure proper operation

· Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly

· Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA

· Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Associate’s degree in radiologic technology or an accredited radiography program (in lieu of a degree, equivalent work experience may be considered)

· Registered Radiologic Technologist certification (preferred in AL, required in FL)

· 2+ years of experience in radiology in a clinic or outpatient healthcare setting (preferred)

SKILLS:

· Knowledge of radiographic positioning and imaging procedures

· Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control practices

· Strong attention to detail and image quality standards

· Proficiency with radiology equipment and digital imaging systems

· Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff
