X‑Ray Technologist (Radiologic Technologist) – FloridaPosition Summary

The X‑Ray Technologist is responsible for performing high‑quality diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with physician orders, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. This role ensures patient comfort, maintains accurate imaging records, and supports the clinical team in delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic exams following established protocols and ALARA principles
• Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety throughout the exam
• Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, reporting any issues promptly
• Position patients accurately to obtain optimal imaging results
• Review images for clarity and completeness before submission to radiologists
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and facility policies
• Document procedures, patient information, and imaging data in the EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to support patient care
• Follow infection‑control and radiation‑safety guidelines
• Participate in continuing education and quality‑assurance activities

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Active ARRT certification in Radiography (ARRT)
• Florida Radiologic Technologist License issued by the Florida Department of Health (Florida DOH)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning, anatomy, and radiation safety
• Ability to lift, move, and position patients as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of clinical radiography experience
• Experience with digital radiography and PACS systems
• Additional modality certifications (e.g., CT)

Florida‑Specific Licensing Requirements (Summary)

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program
• Passing the ARRT Radiography exam
• Application for Florida licensure through the Florida DOH – Radiologic Technology Program
• Fingerprinting and background screening
• Compliance with continuing education requirements for license renewal
