Yacht Captain

The Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and management of the vessel, including navigation, maintenance, safety, crew supervision, and regulatory compliance. The Captain will ensure the safety of passengers, crew, and onboard equipment, while supporting the Employer with guest reception, hospitality, logistics, and other vessel-related duties as required.

• Responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, repair, and general upkeep of the vessel.

• Ensure the safety of the vessel, passengers, crew members, and all onboard equipment and accessories at all times.

• Conduct regular safety inspections of the vessel and ensure compliance with applicable maritime regulations and safety requirements.

• Plan and manage navigation routes, vessel maneuvering, and navigation safety.

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for the vessel and its systems.

• Supervise crew members, assign duties, and oversee crew management and onboard discipline.

• Ensure proper recording and supervision of voyage logs and other operational records.

• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of the vessel’s machinery and equipment, including engine oil and filter system maintenance where required.

• Promptly report the vessel’s operational status to the Employer and proactively provide recommendations where appropriate.

• Assist the Employer with guest reception, hospitality arrangements, logistical support, and other related tasks as required

Requirements

• Valid Captain’s Certificate of Competency or applicable marine certification and familiarity with the IPS system
• At least 5 years' experience as a Captain or in a senior vessel command role.
• Strong knowledge of navigation, vessel operations, safety procedures, and maritime regulations.
• Experience with vessel maintenance, machinery, and preventative maintenance.
• Strong leadership and crew management skills, with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Professional, safety-focused, and service-oriented, with flexibility to support guests and vessel operations as required.
