Location: North Vancouver, British Columbia (On-site)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Daily working hours will generally fall between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., depending on operational requirements.

Company Overview

Located on the North Shore of Vancouver Harbour, Lions Gate Marine Centre offers boaters secure winter dry-storage and an all-year service yard to accommodate projects of all sizes, from annual maintenance such as engine repair, winterization and bottom painting, to installs and large repair jobs.

We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused individual who is comfortable operating equipment, working around boats and heavy machinery, and assisting both customers and marina staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

About the Role

As part of our Yard Crew, you’ll help ensure the safe movement, storage, and cleaning of vessels and equipment. You’ll report to the Foreman and work closely with the other marina staff to support daily operations, assist customers, and maintain a clean and organized yard.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and telehandler to move boats, pallets, blocks, and materials throughout the yard.
• Pressure wash boats, equipment, and marina assets.
• Assist with launching and hauling boats using marina equipment and procedures.
• Spot Sealift and hydraulic trailer operators using radio communication to ensure safe and accurate coordination.
• Move and position boat stands to support vessel storage and stability.
• Provide customer service by answering questions, assisting clients, and directing them as required.
• Maintain yard cleanliness, including garbage removal and general upkeep.
• Perform minor repairs on docks, blocks, and marina infrastructure as required.
• Paint boat blocks and stands as needed for maintenance and upkeep.

Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
• Lifting up to approximately 50 lbs
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Working around heavy equipment and near water

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a labour, yard, construction, or marine environment considered an asset
• Forklift experience or willingness to obtain certification
• Strong communication skills, including use of radios in operational settings
• Ability to lift up to approximately 50 lbs
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Basic mechanical aptitude considered an asset
• Customer service experience considered an asset
• Must be legally able to work in Canada
