The Opportunity

We’re seeking a dependable Yard Labourer to support daily yard operations and help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. In this role, you’ll assist with material handling, yard maintenance, equipment operation, and general labour duties while assisting our customers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work and takes pride offering a quality customer experience.

Your Day-to-Day

• Maintain the yard by removing trash, debris, and other waste material
• Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and ensure all materials are properly secured
• Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, tractors, power tools, and other equipment as required and as qualified
• Conduct inspections of yard equipment and tools and perform basic maintenance when required
• Assist customers as needed
• Perform physically demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, crouching, climbing, crawling and repetitive reaching throughout the workday
• Assist in the organization and storage of yard materials and supplies
• Responsible for following all safety protocols and procedures
• Report any issues or damage in the yard to the supervisor immediately
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions including inclement weather
• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30pm with evening work and overtime on occasion
• Display professionalism toward our company and customers
• Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor

You Are a Good Fit If You Have

Required:

• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork

Considered an Asset:

• Valid forklift certification
• Experience in the construction industry or yard maintenance roles

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to perform physically intensive and strenuous tasks
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
• Ability to work as part of a team and a willingness to collaborate on various job duties
• Ability to use tools and equipment required to perform the work (e.g. hand and power tools, etc.)
• Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and customers
• Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

The pay range posted reflects base compensation only. Starting pay is based on skills, experience, and qualifications. Benefits and other incentives are offered separately.
