Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and energetic Yard Marshall to oversee the efficient and safe movement of materials, equipment, and vehicles within our yard area. In this vital role, you will coordinate loading and unloading activities, manage yard traffic flow, and ensure all operations adhere to safety standards. Duties

• Direct vehicle traffic within the yard, ensuring safe entry, exit, and movement of trucks and equipment
• Oversee the loading and unloading of materials using forklifts and other mechanical tools
• Manage stock levels by coordinating picking, packing, shipping, and receiving activities
• Maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound shipments using warehouse management systems such as AS400
• Assist with materials handling tasks including stacking, organizing, and storing supplies efficiently
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all yard operations and heavy lifting activities
• Support yard maintenance by conducting regular inspections and reporting any mechanical or safety issues
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize space utilization and streamline operational workflows

Skills

• Proven experience operating forklifts safely and effectively; certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (e.g., AS400) for tracking inventory and shipments
• Solid understanding of materials handling techniques in warehouse or construction environments
• Previous warehouse experience with stocking, picking & packing, shipping & receiving processes
• Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic repairs when needed
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper ergonomics
• Familiarity with construction site procedures and safety standards is a plus
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and external vendors
