Yard Person

About the role

We are currently looking for a reliable and hands-on Yard Person to join a busy heavy equipment environment in South Auckland. This is a permanent role suited to someone who enjoys practical, physical work and working around heavy machinery and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Moving and organising heavy machinery and equipment around the yard
• Loading and unloading equipment, parts and materials
• Assisting with the preparation of machinery for delivery and collection
• Keeping the yard clean, organised and safe
• Carrying out basic checks and minor repairs where required
• Assisting tradespeople and technicians with general yard duties
• Using basic hand and power tools safely
• Completing regular lifting, carrying and manual handling of equipment and materials
• Following all workplace health and safety procedures

About you

• Previous experience in a yard, workshop, warehouse, machinery or construction environment
• Basic understanding of heavy machinery and equipment
• Comfortable with physical work and manual handling
• Basic mechanical knowledge or experience with minor repairs is an advantage
• Reliable, practical and willing to get stuck in
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attitude and strong attention to safety
• Full Class 1 NZ Driver's License
• WTR endorsements
• Forklift License is a bonus
