Yard Person

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our operations by ensuring that materials are handled properly and that the yard is kept organised. This position requires physical stamina and a willingness to engage in heavy lifting and various yard-related tasks especially washing and cleaning plant inside and out to be ready for hire .

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of materials as required.
• Operate forklifts safely to load and unload goods from lorries.
• Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing materials.
• Maintain an organised yard, ensuring that all materials are stored correctly and safely.
• Utilise a warehouse management system to track inventory levels and manage stock effectively.
• Collaborate with team members to build pallets and prepare orders for dispatch.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
• Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Clean and prepare Machinery

Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse or yard environment is preferred but not essential.
• Familiarity with forklift operation is advantageous; training may be provided for the right candidate.
• Basic mechanical knowledge will be beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Experience with shipping and receiving processes, as well as materials handling, is desirable.
• A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and adapting to changing tasks is essential.
