About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Yard Supervisor to join our team at our Valenzuela City facility in Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial operational role within our logistics infrastructure. As Yard Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our yard, ensuring efficient movement of goods, maintaining safety standards, and leading a team of yard personnel. This role is essential to our operational success and directly impacts our ability to meet customer commitments and maintain service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of yard staff, including loading, unloading, sorting and organising of goods and materials
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety and environmental protocols within the yard at all times
• Monitor and optimise yard operations to achieve efficiency targets and minimise operational costs
• Manage inventory of yard equipment and materials, maintaining accurate records and reporting shortages or maintenance needs
• Conduct regular inspections of yard facilities, equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition
• Communicate effectively with warehouse management, transport teams and customers regarding yard operations and any potential delays or issues
• Train and develop yard personnel on operational procedures, safety requirements and best practices
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly yard operation reports, including productivity metrics and incident reports
• Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring consistent compliance across all yard operations
• Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend improvements to enhance yard efficiency and effectiveness
• Liaise with maintenance teams to schedule preventative maintenance and emergency repairs

What we're looking for

• Proven supervisory or team leadership experience in a logistics, warehouse or manufacturing yard environment. Looking for at least 3 years' worth of meaningful experience in Yard or Warehouse Supervision
• Strong knowledge of yard operations, including loading, unloading, storage and inventory management practices
• Excellent health and safety awareness with a commitment to maintaining safe working conditions
• Proficiency in using yard management systems and basic computer applications
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload and meet operational deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform occasional manual work on the yard floor
• Flexibility to work shifts as operational requirements demand
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant logistics or supervisory certifications are advantageous
• Experience in the Philippines logistics industry is preferred
• Willing to work in Valenzuela area
