Norman Carriers is a third generation family owned and operated Australian Company established by Norman Hearnden in 1949, Specialising in wharf cartage, warehousing and local delivery of general freight.

Norman Carriers, a leading transport and warehousing business based in Laverton North VIC, is currently seeking an experienced Yard Tug Driver with a passion for safety, efficiency, and superior service for the afternoon shift (3:00pm to 11:00pm).

As a key member of our team, you will bring your expertise in safe and efficient movement of trailers, containers and equipment across operational sites. A valid HC Licence and MSIC is essential for this role, while a MC Licence, and Reach Stacker Licence with operating experience would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate Heavy Combination vehicles.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the safe operation of the vehicle.
• Hook and unhook single and multi-combination vehicles.
• Moving equipment and containers within the depot.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and in compliance with operational and regulatory requirements
• Assist with general yard duties to support smooth day-to-day operations
• Comply with all company policies, safety protocols, as well as local and national transport laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• Valid Victorian Heavy Combination Truck driver's licence (Auto & Manual Gearbox).
• Comprehensive understanding and adherence to NHVR requirements.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Dangerous Goods drivers licence, Forklift high risk work licence, and Sideloader or Crane truck operator experience (advantageous).

Eligibility:
Candidates must meet our pre-employment criteria which includes a medical, drug and alcohol screening, relevant right to work and provide an Australian Drivers Licence 5year History and Demerit Point report.
