Yard worker / Driver

Job Summary

PEI Contractors is currently seeking an individual to assist with all material handling duties at our yard and also deliver materials and small equipment (i.e. skid steers) to our job sites.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Move material and small equipment to and from jobsites utilizing truck and trailer
• Assist with material handling, both manually lifting items up to 50 lbs. and operating forklift
• Maintain yard and tool rooms in an organized, neat and safe fashion
• laborer if needed
• Work with mechanic on various tasks
• clean and wash equipment.

Experience and skills for qualified candidates include:

· Ability to work in fast paced environment

· Ability to multitask

· Must have a valid driver’s license with experience pulling trailers. Class A CDL is a plus.

· Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs

· Working knowledge of construction tools

· Must be computer literate

· Ability to follow direction and effectively communicate with supervisors and others

Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse operations, delivery driving, or courier services
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving
• Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and weight handling in the workplace
• Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, moving items, and manual handling tasks
• Familiarity with mobile devices for route navigation, communication, and documentation purposes
• Excellent adherence to traffic regulations, safety protocols, and safe lifting practices
• Customer service skills with a professional attitude during deliveries and interactions with clients

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
