We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and inspirational teacher to join our team as a Year 5 Class Teacher.

We are seeking someone who strives to be the best they can be, puts children at the heart of everything they do and is excited by the opportunity to make a real difference. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher or an experienced practitioner, we want to hear from you.

Polegate School is a special place where children and staff are given opportunities to grow. Aspiration and ambition are at the heart of everything we do. We are striving to be exceptional in all aspects of our work and aim to make learning irresistible.

"The vision for what pupils can achieve at Polegate is limitless. There is an infectious appetite of high expectations, complemented by the care and consideration shown for the whole school community. This ensures that the experience for every pupil is the very best that it can be." - Ofsted

The successful candidate will:

  • Be passionate about teaching and committed to inspiring and motivating pupils to achieve their full potential.
  • Have high expectations of pupils' achievement, behaviour and personal development.
  • Be able to plan and deliver engaging, creative and high-quality learning experiences that challenge and support all learners.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where children can thrive.
  • Have a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning within Key Stage 2.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to whole-school development.
  • Be reflective, enthusiastic and committed to continuous professional development.
  • Be either an ECT or an experienced teacher who is ambitious for both themselves and their pupils.

Join us and we can offer:

  • A fast-paced, energetic and rewarding environment.
  • A committed, supportive and highly motivated team.
  • Senior leaders who encourage innovation, creativity and calculated risk-taking.
  • Excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • Chocolate for those moments when it's needed most!
  • The occasional staff social.
  • Plenty of opportunities to laugh and enjoy being part of a great team.

Everyone, both children and staff, thrives on challenge. We work hard, support one another and celebrate success together.

Polegate School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment.
