What they need

Youth Coach – Albany & Whangaparāoa I 2 Full-time Positions

Are you experienced in working with young people aged 16-19 who are facing real-world barriers, and ready to walk alongside them toward independence?

At Springboard, we go beyond case management. Our Youth Coaches provide intensive, tailored, wrap-around support to help young people move towards sustainable education, training, and employment. This is a hands-on role that requires the ability to build trust quickly, hold clear boundaries, and confidently navigate support systems alongside MSD obligations.

We are recruiting two full-time Youth Coaches to join our team, supporting young people across the Albany and Whangaparāoa areas.

About the Role

Your day-to-day work will be varied and responsive to the young people you support.

You will:

  • Manage enrolments and help young people understand and meet their benefit obligations, while connecting them to available support
  • Build trusted relationships and co-design practical, strengths-based plans
  • Provide hands-on support across housing, wellbeing, education, and employment readiness
  • Work alongside whānau, schools, training providers, employers, and government agencies to coordinate wrap-around support

About You

You know how to balance support with expectations, and you’re consistent in how you show up for people.

  • Experience working with young people with complex needs and barriers
  • Strong community connections and an ability to engage effectively
  • Strong self-management, organisation, and clear communication skills
  • Calm under pressure and proactive in problem-solving
  • Confidence in case management
  • Reliable follow-through and accountability

Requirements

  • Full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.
  • Currently living in New Zealand.
  • Full working rights with no restrictions.
  • Ability to meet Children's Act safety checking and vetting requirements.

To apply, please upload your  CV and a cover letter outlining why you’re interested in this role and the strengths you bring.
