The Manitowoc–Two Rivers YMCA is hiring a Youth Development Lead to help guide our school-age programs for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

If you enjoy working with children and want to build your leadership skills, this position offers practical experience in staff supervision, program planning, family communication and childcare operations. You’ll work with the Senior Director of Youth Development to support staff and create a safe, welcoming environment where children build confidence, friendships

What You’ll Do

· Help hire, train and support school-age teaching and counseling staff.

· Plan engaging activities that support children’s physical, social and emotional development.

· Oversee program safety, quality and childcare licensing compliance.

· Build positive relationships with children, families, staff and community partners.

· Assist with registration, hiring screens, staff meetings and program administration.

· Model caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Qualificactions

· At least 21 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent.

· Education that meets Wisconsin DCF school-age director requirements. Qualifying pathways include an associate or bachelor’s degree, a recognized credential or qualifying teaching license, or an approved combination of coursework.

· At least 240 hours of qualifying experience before assuming the director role. Experience may include school-age programming, teaching, coaching, camp counseling or community-based mentoring. Qualifying YMCA experience may count.

· Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to supervise staff, work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.

· A commitment to child safety, teamwork and continued learning.

· Eligibility to work in licensed childcare following the required background check process.

· Ability to meet the position’s physical demands, including active indoor and outdoor programming and lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Required orientation, safety training, CPR/AED, pediatric first aid, Wisconsin Registry documentation and continuing education must be completed within applicable deadlines.
