The Wissahickon Valley Boys & Girls Club is a community based non-profit in Ambler, PA. We offer engaging, fun and inclusive programs for children.

About the Position

Wissahickon Valley Boys & Girls Club is seeking motivated and energetic individuals 18+ to join our team. This position will be responsible for planning and implementing activities for children as well as supervising gamesroom areas after school. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working with children and a desire to make a meaningful impact on children's lives. Hours will be M-F between 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. with occasional later evenings for special events.

Responsibilities

• Plan and/or execute art, leadership or STEM activities and sports for groups of members
• Lead recreational and educational activities
• Escort and oversee children throughout activity sessions
• Educate members through games and explorations
• Set up and maintain equipment
• Resolve occasional conflicts between children and address behavioral issues
• Make sure all safety rules are followed
• Ensure the site is clean
• Keep accurate incident logs and communicate with supervisors
• Participate in daily cleaning and building maintenance
• Develop relationships with members and make sure every Club member has fun

Skills

• Proven experience working with children preferred
• Familiarity with children’s games and activities
• Patient and reliable
• Organizational and communication skills
• Energetic and positive personality
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow activities like playing games daily and helping with daily cleaning procedures)

An After School Activity leader will be part of our team for the duration of the school year at the Wissahickon Valley Boys & Girls Club in Ambler.

Additionally: Must be able to pass the PA criminal and child abuse background checks as well as national criminal and child abuse background checks. Total cost for clearances - $64.00

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 22.0 per week
