Youth Development Professional/Program Assistant - Santa Nella

Position Summary: The Youth Development Professional/Program Assistant is the entry level in the Youth Development Professional series. This position supports the daily operations of the afterschool program, helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where Club members can thrive.

Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.

External: Maintains contact with members, families, and the general public to give and obtain information, either in response to inquiries or as instructed by the supervisor.

Essential Functions:

• Build authentic, respectful relationships with youth members through daily interaction and mentorship
• Assist in planning, setting up, and leading age-appropriate activities in areas such as arts, STEM, recreation, and character development
• Support youth in homework help, group games, and structured enrichment sessions
• Reinforce Club values, behavioral expectations, and mission through consistent modeling and encouragement.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming program space
• Participate in ongoing training and development to grow within the Youth Development Professional series
• Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality program delivery and member engagement
• May participate in special programs and/or events.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Suite, as well as other software that could be used to enhance a youth development
• Experience working with youth
• Ability to motivate and teach youth and supervise youth and maintain a safe environment
• Planning and organizational skills
• Ability to learn to organize and conduct programs for youth
• Familiarity with the principles of youth development
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and groups
• Ability to work towards positive outcomes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and be flexible
• Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
• High School Diploma or GED
• CPR and First Aid Certifications
• Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously, while maintaining health and safety precautions.

Pay: From $16.90 per hour
