Zendesk- Development & Integration Engineer

Job Summary

The Technical Delivery Zendesk Development & Integrations role is a programmer-focused position responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Zendesk applications, API integrations, and advanced platform configurations. This role develops scalable technical solutions that connect Zendesk with internal systems, third-party platforms, and client environments while ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing implementations.

The position works closely with Digital Services Delivery, IT, Product, and client stakeholders to translate business and operational requirements into technical solutions using Zendesk APIs, SDKs, middleware/iPaaS platforms, webhooks, and automation frameworks. The role also supports ongoing optimization, troubleshooting, and enhancement of Zendesk environments and connected systems.

As a trusted technical partner, you will work closely with clients and internal teams to transform business and technical requirements into scalable Zendesk solutions, supporting integration design, development, deployment, and ongoing operational stability.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Own the technical development and configuration of Zendesk integrations and advanced platform solutions, focusing on custom apps, APIs, middleware/iPaaS data flows, webhooks, and authentication.
• Design, develop, and maintain custom Zendesk applications, integrations, and automation solutions using Zendesk APIs, SDKs, and related technologies.
• Build and support integrations between Zendesk and internal/external platforms including CRM, WFM, telephony, reporting, AI, and back-office systems.
• Configure and optimize Zendesk environments including routing logic, triggers, automations, custom objects, workflows, permissions, and integration dependencies.
• Translate functional requirements into technical designs including integration specifications, API mappings, authentication models, error handling, and scalable solution architectures.
• Develop and maintain middleware/iPaaS integrations, data transformation logic, and secure API communication flows.
• Participate in technical workshops and client discussions focused on integrations, development strategy, architecture alignment, and platform capabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and integration issues, performing root-cause analysis and implementing long-term corrective solutions.
• Support deployment activities, production readiness, monitoring approaches, operational handovers, and technical documentation for developed solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Professional Services Delivery, Solutions, Account Management, and IT teams to ensure successful project execution and platform stability.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve automation, scalability, performance, and developer best practices within Zendesk ecosystems.
