Job Summary

Ark Wildlife Park is looking for a passionate and reliable Zookeeper to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role within a small, supportive team, working with a diverse collection of small to medium-sized species.

You will play a key role in maintaining excellent standards of animal welfare, husbandry, and visitor engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily animal care and husbandry tasks
• Prepare diets and enrichment activities
• Maintain accurate records using animal management software
• Deliver talks, feeds, and animal encounters to visitors
• Maintain cleanliness of enclosures, service areas, and public spaces
• Follow and support site health & safety procedures

Requirements

• 1 year of full-time, paid experience in a licensed zoo preferable but not essential
• Level 3 (or higher) qualification in an animal-related subject
• Full UK driving licence(essential)
• Confident working with animals and interacting with the public
• Strong teamwork and time management skills

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience delivering public talks or educational sessions
• Familiarity with animal record-keeping software
