JOB DESCRIPTION

NYEG is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and compassionate Zumba Instructor to lead weekly fitness classes designed specifically for seniors. The ideal candidate is passionate about wellness, movement, and uplifting older adults through safe, fun, and engaging exercise. This is a unique opportunity to bring joy, health, and community to seniors in a supportive group setting.

Duties include:

• Lead weekly Zumba or dance-based fitness classes for a senior audience.
• Modify movement to suit different mobility and ability levels.
• Arrive 15 minutes early to prepare the space and welcome participants.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging class environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the class area before and after each session.
• Build strong, positive relationships with participants and onsite staff.
• Communicate regularly with NYEG's Director of Operations for scheduling and feedback.

Requirements:

• Certified Zumba Instructor or equivalent dance/fitness certification.
• Experience working with seniors or in a community wellness setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills; must be upbeat, patient, and encouraging.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be punctual, responsible, and professional.

Preferred but not necessary:

• 2+ years of teaching group fitness, especially for older adults.
• Knowledge of music selection, choreography adaptation, and injury prevention.
• Background in wellness, physical education, or related field is a plus.

This is a freelance/independent contractor position.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour
